Sound of the Phase of the moon : Click the Bright side, Dark Side of the moon to play a tone. Also click outside the moon to play the fundamental note. Imagine a string lying onlong perpendicular to the terminator phase line. The terminator point between light and dark is the point of contact on the string. From the formula frequency = 1/time which is analagous to frequency = k/(wavelength) we can hear the phase of the moon as a musical instrument. The default moon open string frequency = 109.804Hz which is based on the cycles per second light takes to orbit a quarter the circumference of the moon, from formula velocity = frequency * wavelength. The Base frequency can be altered by clicking the box. Pressing 'MODE' switches sound to constant rather than plucked. The Time Zone of location will be taken into account for accuracy. Moon Phase angle (in degrees) is 180° New moon, 90° First quarter moon, 0°/360° Full moon, 270° Last Quarter moon.
